Annie Sloan

Annie Sloan

Annie Sloan is the world’s leading authority on paint, colour and technique.  In 1990, she created Chalk Paint®, a unique water-based non-toxic formula of unrivalled quality, with a velvety matt finish that sticks to just about any surface, from furniture to walls and floors, inside and outside the home, without the need for priming or sanding.

Now available in 42 mixable colours, alongside a range of decorator’s accessories including brushes, waxes and varnish, Chalk Paint® was joined in 2016 by 16 shades of Wall Paint, followed by a fabric collection of coloured linens, tickings and painterly prints.

Originally produced in Belgium, thanks to Annie’s passionate belief in local production, paint for the UK, US, Europe and other world markets is now manufactured in-house in a purpose-built factory alongside the brand’s Oxford headquarters.

In 2018 a US subsidiary company was established to undertake direct distribution to 500 stockists in the United States. Annie Sloan products are sold through a network of over 1700 independent retailer stockists in 57 countries. Stockist shops are the bricks and mortar of the Annie Sloan ethos: she passionately supports independent businesses.

Stockists offer customers workshops in paint and colour. Sharing knowledge and education is a core part of the Annie Sloan brand. This extends to a high profile presence on social media where inspiration is shared globally – over 250,000 Facebook followers alone.

Current collaborations include ‘Lem Lem’ ‘the colour of hope’  for Oxfam and a range of colours and gift sets for the Charleston Trust based on the Bloomsbury Group’s Sussex farmhouse.
