Height for Hire

Height for Hire is a family-run access machinery rental business with its UK HQ based in Manchester. It has been operating since 1978 and has over 2,000 machines across 45 locations in four countries –the UK, Ireland, Hungary and Slovakia. 

 

It has the largest range of access machinery within the British Isles, split into four divisions – self drives, truck mounts, spider lifts and core access machinery.

 

The Self Drive vehicle-mounts are a small truck-mounted cherrypicker that can work at heights up to 20m, but can be driven on a standard car licence because it is mounted on a 3-tonne chassis. Previously, to have the operational flexibility of a truck-mounted hoist, customers would have needed a full truck licence which adds to the costs of doing the work. This machine allows existing cherry picker users to reduce their costs, and make safe access affordable, facilitating more people to work at height safely.

The larger Truck Mounts, with working heights up to 90m, come with a fully trained operator as part of the hire. But the smaller Self Drive machines can also be hired with an operator.
